Interesting whether Chuck DeVore is endorsed, given that he voted to make the open carry/speech I am doing in my own neighborhood a FELONY. (He voted in favor of AB668, increasing "gun-free" school zones from 1000 ft to 1500 ft; thankfully the bill died in the senate.) I will still vote for him as there is no better choice on radar, but my enthusiasm is dampened as he seems to be one of those arrogant military-types that doesn't trust civilians with guns. Worse, I believe his stance has made just about all GOP candidates afraid to even talk about open carry, which Sacramento is trying to ban outright at this very moment! For shame!
The NRA is a single issue organization. The only issues on which we evaluate candidates seeking elected office are gun-related issues. While there are many issues a candidate must address with voters, and while voters evaluate a number of non-gun-related issues in factoring which candidate they will support or oppose, NRA-PVF’s sole criteria in issuing grades and endorsements is a candidate’s position on gun-related issues.
