Recently I posted my opinion on why the NRA was mistaken to focus on guns only, and I am pleased to observe some shift toward confronting other issues.
We are now in the early stages of Second Amendment jurisprudence; there is much work to be done; and NYT's thesis, below, that the shift is because Second Amendment issue is "settled" now and the successful NRA is just moving on to other issues because it has the money, seems to me to be just total and complete BS:
NYT: NRA expands agenda beyond guns – Politics – The New York Times – msnbc.com:
The N.R.A.’s expanding portfolio is an outgrowth of its success in the courts, Congressional officials and political analysts said. With the Supreme Court ruling last month for the second time since 2008 that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual the right to have a gun , the N.R.A. now finds that its defining battle is a matter of settled law, and it has the resources to expand into other areas.
