Father of Ted Cruz Became Canadian Citizen in 1973

Posting this because i’ve had difficulty finding the exact year Cruz’ father became a Canadian citizen. Not sure what Breitbart’s source is, but if correct this would mean the elder Cruz was still a Cuban citizen when Cruz was born:

Eleanor never became a permanent resident. Eleanor had lived in Canada for only three years by the time Cruz was born (from 1967 to 1970). Note that Cruz’s father, Rafael did become a Canadian citizen in 1973; Eleanor never did and therefore could never have registered to vote.
