Planned Parenthood: Hiding HIV status from sex partner is a ‘right’

The definition of a “right” just got a lot weirder – and more dangerous. Planned Parenthood has declared it is a person’s “right” not to tell a sexual partner whether they are HIV-positive if they don’t want to. International Planned Parenthood Federation, of which Planned Parenthood Federation […]

The Left’s Worst Fear On Guns Has Been Realized: The NRA Was Right

The number of people slaughtered in “gun free zones” at home and aboard shows conclusively that gun control is a failed idea which must be abandoned.

New Rasmussen Poll Shows Majority Okay With Armed Citizens

CopyCat Shooters
This is progress–seven years ago when i started providing concealed carry training, antis used to ask me: aren’t you afraid people won’t like you?

BELLEVUE, Wash., Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A new Rasmussen poll released Monday shows that a majority of Americans are unconcerned about being in the company of armed private citizens, which comes at a time when applications for concealed carry permits and licenses are rising, possibly as a result of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, the Second Amendment Foundation said.

According to Rasmussen, 57 percent of Americans “remain unconcerned about their safety around those who have legal permits to carry concealed weapons, with 37% who are Not At All Concerned.” Rasmussen also reported that “Forty percent believe the presence of more Americans with concealed carry gun permits will decrease the number of people killed in violent incidents in America.”

“In the wake of terrorist attacks in France and California,” noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb, “more people are realizing that it could be the armed private citizen that provides the first line of defense until police arrive, and that could take several minutes. As Washington, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier recently advised in a CBS interview, ‘If you’re in a position to try to take the gunman down, to take the gunman out, it’s the best option for saving lives before police can get there.'”

The Rasmussen report also revealed that middle-aged adults “have the most confidence in those with concealed carry gun permits” and that “fifty-nine percent of Republicans believe the presence of more Americans with concealed carry gun permits will decrease the number of people killed in violent incidents, but just 25 percent of Democrats and 41 percent of unaffiliateds agree.”

“This suggests that Democrats and liberals still don’t get it about self-defense,” Gottlieb observed. “Maybe they’re more comfortable reading about defenseless people being murdered en masse, rather than having the tools to fight back, provided they’re not the victims.

San Bernardino has changed the dynamic, and it should seriously change the dialogue about firearms, self-defense and the right to carry,” he concluded. “We’ve entered a new era, and waiting for the police to arrive and save us is no longer a viable option.”

The Second Amendment Foundation (www.saf.org) is the nation’s oldest and largest tax-exempt education, research, publishing and legal action group focusing on the Constitutional right and heritage to privately own and possess firearms.  Founded in 1974, The Foundation has grown to more than 650,000 members and supporters and conducts many programs designed to better inform the public about the consequences of gun control.

Sheriff Hutchens, if #OC is not Mumbai, might it be Seal Beach or San Bernardino?

CopyCat ShootersAbout seven years ago, when appointed Sheriff Hutchens disappointed us with her anti-CCW policy shift, i asked her at a small gathering where she seemed very friendly/warm/nice, whether restricting CCW would put us at risk of a Mumbai-type attack. She responded, “Orange County is not Mumbai.” (And of course she also said “I support the Second Amendment” etc.). About a year later took my permit (along with about 800 others). Then a couple years later we had a mass shooting in Seal Beach. And of course, last week in San Bernardino we had the largest terror attack in the US since 9/11.

Sheriff Hutchens, if #OC is not Mumbai, might it be Seal Beach or San Bernardino?

Some of us at long last have permits again but it is uncertain whether she will renew these or what cause requirement she will use when it is time to renew. It does seem she is resisting the change and is only dragged into issuing now due to NRA pressure and the Peruta-type cases. As of my last interview with them (i am very direct) it was clear to me that the top brass at OCSD is still decidedly anti-CCW. Yet they issue because of pressure and hopefully the pressure will continue (thanks NRA, and thank you Charles E. Nichols for an alternate strategy that may work out better). Sheriffs generally are more friendly to CCW than politically appointed police chiefs, but even they have had to be brought up the learning curve over several decades. Hutchens is an appointed sheriff from LA and therefore starts at a lower point on the curve but eventually she will understand as well, i hope.
